ABOUT US

Thousand Hills Riding Stable is strategically located in the heart of horse country Fauquier County, VA, just off Route 66 at Exit27. Established by Yvonne Bright in 2008, THRS was created to address the need for families with young children to engage with horses. Yvonne is a Certified Horsemanship Association Level 2 instructor, and extensive background includes 15 years as a Veterinary Technician, combined with her experience as a mother. Since 2012, she has been committed to cultivating the next generation of equestrians through her teaching. Thousand Hills Riding Stable offers a nurturing country environment for children to learn the fundamentals of horsemanship. Our program offers both private and group lessons, alongside coaching for local horse shows. Our safe and affectionate ponies not only foster a love for horses but also create memorable experiences for children, who can expect a warm welcome with a friendly nicker during each visit. We specialize in teaching children as young as two years old. These lessons can be scheduled in 30, 45, or 60-minute increments and all aspects of horsemanship, both on the ground and in the saddle.

YVONNE BRIGHT

Yvonne has been riding for over 25 years and competing in both hunter and jumper shows.

Yvonne is a Certified Horsemanship Association Level 2 instructor as well as a mother and former Veterinary Technician of 15 years. She has been teaching since 2006.

She bought her first horse Nike (pictured to the side) in 2001 as a two-year-old and trained him to be the rivaled jumper he is today. They both love a gallop through the neighboring vineyards, but their passion is jumping big and fast. While you will still find Yvonne and Nike competing, she is now focusing on her daughters’ and her young clients’ riding and doing her part to mold the next generation of equestrians.
